The Slow Fox Trot: A Challenging but Delightful 9-Week Jaunt

Ladies and gentlemen,.  You've been asking for it.

So here it is.

A long-enough session to get a basic handle on the Slow Fox Trot, in the international style -- the most challenging yet most delightful dance that has been described by dancers and onlookers as "ice skating on the dance floor".

The reason why it looks that way has to do with the degree of "body rise".   The "going up" of the body in this dance is not as much as in the Slow Waltz and Quick Step, so the dance couple would inevitably look like they are skating.

(Since most of the body rise occurs when you go up on your toes to do a step, the body literally goes up.)

If you register for this nine-week journey, please make sure you don't miss more than one session.

Sheila, the second instruction sheet comes out next week and includes the 3-step as one of the first figures listed.

Hi John, was there a second dance step sheet handed out yesterday that I didn't receive. The first one doesn't have the 3-step. Can I get the direction for that step please? Also Charles is sorry he cannot make it next week due to a prior commitment, but I will come and learn both male/female steps to show him.

I find that 9-weeks is almost a minimum length of time to really get into any of the dances. It might be different if we were going to the West-Way every week. It's amazing how much info can be forgotten over the course of a single week without practicing...

First class was intense enough to make it challenging yet not discouraging

I liked seeing feet pattern on the floor, which helped memorize my step & angle much better! Thanks for the great lesson John.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
