I'm following up on my last email a few days ago to let you know that the first set of classes has been scheduled.
Classes will be held mainly on Saturday nights, and sometimes on Sundays as this easily accessible venue--Trinity St Paul's United Church, a 5-min walk from the Spadina subway station--will not always be available on Saturdays.
I would like to invite you to check the website, now renamed Ballroom and Latin American Dance Coaching, which has been redesigned.
This site offers this service: Do it! Do It! Saturday/Sunday Ballroom Standard and Ballroom Latin American dance classes. They are coming September 10, 2011.
As you are probably aware, most meetup group Organizers grapple with the same issue on their website--having a membership list which is very outdated and full of members who have not attended any meetings in years.
I would like to maintain a list that truly reflects real, active, participatory members who truly want to learn and practice their art form.
THE NEW RULE
All existing members, starting September 10, 2011, will need to attend at least one (1) of the 10 weekly classes by November 13, 2011. Thereafter, the attendance requirement will be once every four weeks.
(New members joining after August 25, 2011 will be informed of this new rule.)
Members' names will be pruned after the "grandfathering" deadline date of November 13, 2011.
There is no charge for classes but there's a Meetup fee of $2.00 payable at the door. This will cover Meetup administration costs and donations to dance charities.
I look forward to seeing you sometime in the future.
