Note: this event has been postponed from 29th May to 13th June to generate more interest.
Ever been climbing before?
No? Then come along, try out a new sport. The Arch climbing wall is a bouldering-only centre. No larger walls (top ropes or leads), so you don't have to pass any sort of test.
Yes? Then you know how awesome it is. Come lets go climb at the arch climbing wall, snack on some bananas and have an awesome time!
This is the real deal! We have done one of these before informally, and it was a huge success:
Meet about 18:30pm in the Lobby area.
I will also be meeting people at 18:00pm at Bermondsey Station, and walk down.
If you are running a bit late, you are still welcome to come.
Single Admission (Peak Time) £10.00 or £8.50 for students and BMC members.
Shoe Rental: £3
What to wear:
- Shoes: Rock climbing shoes if you have, otherwise you will need to hire some for £3. They will recommend you go for a size below your own food size. This may be uncomfortable and ruin the experience for you. I would personally recommend going for the same size, or trying out different sizes and seeing what size fits you best.
- Clothing: Something that is cool (light) and sufficiently loose but not baggy. This activity requires unhindered movements of all limbs, and you may get hot. Shorts are good too.
Bring water, or a water container. There is a water fountain there.
There are also changing room facilities.
From Bermondsey Tube station (Jubilee Line) turn left out of the station, then left again onto St. James Road. Head down St. James Road until you see the sign for The Biscuit Factory just before the railway bridge. Turn left here and head down Clement’s Road . Turn into the courtyard on the right hand side opposite Webster Road. We are Block E, at the back of the courtyard on the right.
