Aloha to our Kanikapila Ohana!!!!!  We continue our 2014 celebration of Hawaiian music and culture by welcoming all Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Ukulele Players, as well as, their families and friends!! Kanikapila literally means“play music”and we’d like to invite all kanes and wahine to come join us, kick back, relax, be yourself and just take it easy. Our New Year Kanikapila resolutions include a closer look at Hawaiian words and phrases, as well as, the Hawaiian alphabet, and singing more Hawaiian-language songs in our repretoire! We have also resolved to take Kanikapila on the road, playing at different venues - and beginning February, we’ll be sharing the Aloha Spirit in Carrollton!!

The Aloha Spirit is alive and well in Texas!!!

Kanikapila had a nice turnout even with the bad weather and everyone seemed to have a nice time! The venue was nice, the food was delicious, and everyone present help to share the Aloha Spirit!!!!

This is a great new place and wasn't that hard to get to from the southern end of the metroplex.

I agree with the people who have posted here. It looks like it may be easy getting there, but coming home could be dicey.

I was really looking forward to tonight but will wait til next month - I'm sure it will be warmer!!

Sorry we will miss this evening but the weather looks too questionable for us. Hope you have a great time.

I'm hesitant about coming due to the new weather forecast. Please have it at this new location again!

Noel, we're trying to use venues two or three months at a time, so that we can make Kanikapila more accessible to more DUH members!

I'm glad as I can get to this location on a timely basis. The other one is too far to coordinate with work schedule.

According to the weather forecast, there will be no problem getting there, but coming home could have freezing rain and snow. I hate to miss Kanikapila, but I don't drive in ice and snow! Unless that changes before I have to leave, I won't be there.
