Beginning Baritone Ukulele Class
Have a BARITONE UKE in the closet? Received a BARITONE UKE for Christmas?
For people who want to learn to play the baritone ukulele, we will be starting a Beginners Class in mid January.
Our MISSION is to assist participants to become proficient enough to participate in jams and other fun activities.
There are four sizes of ukuleles, from smallest to largest they are: soprano, concert, tenor and baritone. The first three are tuned GCEA. The baritone is tuned like the first four strings of the guitar, DGBE. The chord graphs and other material that you see most often are designed for soprano, concert and tenor. The baritone graphs are different and the baritone class will use music with chord graphs designed for the baritone and the beginning player. The songs will be familiar tunes in the keys of C, G and F.
In addition to chords and strum patterns, we will learn songs from DUH materials and other sources. We will provide resource material such as Internet Links, Authors, Books and Handouts.
Meeting Times: Sat. Jan. 14, Sat. Jan. 28 and Feb. 18, 2-4pm.
Meeting Place: North Dallas, near Dallas North Tollway and Beltline.
If you are interested in attending this class, please contact Roy Wood and Donna Shelton at [address removed]. Class size is limited, so early response is recommended.
