UPDATE: Come early and shop Oz's for strings, kazoos, books, cables and all uke essentials. If you have a new uke, chances are it came with cheap strings. Try a set of Martin fluorocarbon or Aquila strings and hear what a difference good strings can make.
We will also be running through some repertoire tunes in order to get a live set together. If you are interested in playing some shows this summer/fall (retirement homes, outdoor festivals), let Greg or Annette know. Also, we're still looking for an accordion player to sit in!
For February... Post your songs of love and heartache. We need about 10-12... otherwise it will be a short meetup. You don't have to lead the song, but you may have to hum a few bars to get us started if it's obscure.
Print out and bring any music posted after the January meetup. You can find the music up at the top under the "MORE" tab, then click >>Files. Remember, if there's a song you would like to play, please post it there (PDF is best) or bring 15-20 copies.
As always, we'll pass the fez to pay for the room, so bring a few bucks to drop in. And we should have some time for open mike if anyone wants to perform a solo tune.
In other business, our own Ukulele Lady, Fawn K. is putting together a Veteran's Day ukulele music video project. This will be a montage of photos set to ukulele music. If you have a photo of a service man or service woman you'd like to include, please see Fawn for details.
