Wednesday Night Pickup

Hey Everyone,

John Skarha recently informed me of a new pickup game starting Wednesday night from 6:30 - 9 PM at Glenbard South. The cost will be $3 / person. I assume there are lights because it will be going until 9. RSVP here - http://www.meetup.com/ultimatefrisbee-166/events/142372172/ - It's not organized by me / our group, but I imagine it'll be a pretty cool deal. Unsure how long this will be going on, but it seems really promising, and a great solution to our "not very much frisbee available during central standard time" problem. I'm planning to attend this week and can provide a (quick?) summary of findings.

On a rather unfortunate note, we're losing daylight fast. Halloween will be our last game, which means we've only got 10 more weekday games left this season.

Additionally, Chadd's putting together a paintball excursion in a couple weeks. It's a Sunday during frisbee time, so you'll have a Sophie's Choice dilemma with this one. If the internet is correct, the Bears play the Thursday beforehand, so that's a major problem solved for a bunch of folks. I know a ton of people in the group have talked about paintball the past few years, glad to see someone with initiative actually going through and setting something up. Lastly, as a super-early heads-up that runs the risk of confusing some of you: the tentative plan is to play at the Golf Rd fields all through winter, probably most (if not all) of March, and maybe even April, and then switch back to the Higgins entrance fields for at least the daylight season of 2014. If you think this is a terrible idea, please let me know. I've talked it over with some people and this sort of field rotation seems like it'll help solve the issues we've had with tearing up grass and such. The move this year went quite smoothly, so I'm hopeful that we can easily do it again.

See you on the field,
Caz
