Weekday Ultimate & Spring League

Apologies if this is the second time you're getting this message. Meetup's server was hit with a DDOS attack (at least, that's what they tell me) and I'm not sure if this went through the first time.

Hey Everyone,

A longer email will be coming in the next week or two (describing some upcoming administrative changes for the group), but as for now there are a few important announcements to make.

First, our weekday games will be back starting Tuesday March 11th, when we will be moving back toward the Higgins Rd entrance for the rest of the year. Tuesday/Thursday games will start at 5 PM and run until either sunset (~7 PM initially) or everyone's done playing.

Second, Ultimate Chicago is running their Spring League again this year and registration recently opened. Registration is available until March 12th, but typically fills up early, especially for men. PEOPLE WE KNOW HAVE BEEN LOCKED OUT OF PLAYING BECAUSE THEY REGISTERED AFTER ALL SPOTS WERE FILLED. Games will be played on Saturdays with times varying from week to week.

I'll paste in the email below, for those of you who aren't currently registered at

Even if you have no interest in playing league in the Spring, it's a good idea to get yourself on the mailing list so you'll hear announcements about future leagues and events as soon as possible.

Longer email coming later,

Ultimate Chicago,

Your long hibernation is over – springtime Ultimate is here.  Spring League
Registration will be open February 24th through March 12th.  As usual, Spring
League will be a "core plus draft" format.  This means that teams are formed
by an 8 players core consisting of at least 4 women.

The rest of the roster is formed by a live draft process in each division.
The draft will take place on March 15th location TBD.  Any player not
associated with a core can register to enter the draft (solo or with one
buddy).  Both individual players and cores will be able to select from the
following divisions:

Advanced (Rock)

Competitive (Paper)

Recreational (Scissors)

Have a question? The answer is likely on our helpful FAQ.  Read that once,
then twice, then feel free to ask further questions by e-mailing
[address removed]. ☺
