Perhaps you've heard about Last Thursday, NE Alberta Street's take on First Thursday. This crazy street fair celebrates everything that is weird and unique about Portland. Though there are a few art galleries open along the street, the real draw is the independent artists selling their works from card tables along the sidewalk. Mixed with that are the various performers who will entertain us as we stroll the street.
In addition to experiencing the street fair, I will take you on a tour of some other neighborhood curiosities:
- The feminist bookstore from Portlandia
- Peninsula Park: The Original Rose Test Gardens
- Site of the Unicycle Polo Matches
- Tonali's Doughnuts, with their amazing buttercream bar
- Bee keeping demo
This completely flat 4.5 mile walk will take us about 3 hours, including our slow stroll through the street fair.
All events start promptly at the time indicated. Bring rain gear if it rains.
Please leave yourself time to park or take public transit as it gets very crowded here on Last Thursday.
Cost for this event is $10
