  • I guess what I am wondering is: how is the meet-up on Mondays structured? Is everyone at different points in the Course or has everyone there already read it? Let me know! Thanks so much--Dalia. :)

  • Hi Stephen! I don't know if you remember me, but we communicated via e-mail a while back when I was looking for a new church in Boston! I ended up joining First Church of Boston which has been good. But I am still interested in A Course in Miracles and I think I am going to start reading/studying it. It would be AWESOME to have a group of people to study it WITH! Then I saw that you have a group that meets on Monday evenings! Does it matter if I am only just starting the Course? Dalia :)

  • How funny you should mention the "Lessons in Truth" book. I purchased it about 10 years ago but never read it all! I'll have to go find it! I also used to subscribe to "Daily Word" back then but something bothered me about the wording in one day's devotional. I think the way they termed something that didn't seem "Christian" to me. I am now more accepting of other terms for things....wish I could remember it specifically...oh well...I'll check him out..literally!! LOL At the library! Thanks!

  • I own many of them already. Wayne Dyer's books, some by Deepak Chopra and I just purchased "A Course in Miracles".

  • Thank you for writing to me and giving me more information. I went to the website you gave me and found that the church in Brookline's bookstore has the very books for sale that led me to your meetup group!! ;-)

  • (continued from below) friendships that start out in Church but that expand over the course of time. Does this make sense or am I rambling ;) Sorry, it is 4am, trouble sleeping, so perhaps my mind is still foggy! Hope you had a great weekend! Dalia.

  • (continued from below) ON THE OTHER HAND, do they not lend a helping hand if one of its members/friends is crying out in pain because of a crisis in life? (because they believe that prayer alone suffices)? This is important to me, because I am looking for a new spiritual home and also like-minded friends, people that I want to grow to become very close with. Church to me has never been something you just go to on Sunday and that's it--I have always wanted to share deep and meaningful

  • Also, this might sound like an odd question, but do Unity church-goers, or does the Unity faith, state or encourage its members to not actually DO anything out in the world (volunteer work, social justice missions) but rather sit in prayer? Does one necessarily exclude the other? I was thinking, a lot of people make friends for life in Church, and it just ocurred to me if Church members feel this way, does that mean they do not rally to celebrate when one of its members, say, gets good news OR

  • Hello Stephen! I know I dropped off the map :) I really love the Unity church in Brookline so far. I also really like the First Church of Boston, for different reasons (that is a Unitarian church on Marlborough street in the Back Bay). In any case, I truly am planning on making it to Unity in the City very soon! How many members are there currently? Is the service held in a Church? Hope you are well :) Dalia.
