Garden Group Work Party

  • Jun 28, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • Emily's House

Transition Salt Lake's Garden Group is having a Work Party at 7118 Sagebrush Way in Cottonwood Heights on Saturday June 28th from 9am-1pm. Please come and meet some new folks, learn about gardening, and help out! We will be having a potluck for lunch. At this work party we will be pulling out a member's (Emily's) park strip and replacing it with fruit and nut trees, perennials, and some ground cover. We will be using the "lasagna" technique. Things to bring: some food to share, a shovel, gloves, any cardboard and organic matter (ie. leaves) and any plants you have to share. It should be a great time! This Garden Group meets once a month for a potluck and hosts monthly work parties at different member's houses.

This was a great gardening work party. Emily knew exactly what she wanted and had the materials ready. We removed sod from her park strip and started laying down a "lasagna garden". They we planted two fruit trees. Finally we sat down to pot luck veggie feast and great conversation. Thanks for hosting Emily!
