Had a great time today, we found 6 waterfalls, did a lot of technical hiking and a full body work out going up, down, around, under, over when we were off trail which was most of the day. Thanks Pat for the information about the Cafe it was very good we will be stopping by there again. Thanks Lisa and Mary for coming and hanging in there on the almost trails.

Almost trails for sure! Laurel shrubs and other kinds of vegetation grew across the narrow trail which was up on a ridge above the river. Some falls were easy to get to while others were below steep embankments. Got to relax and enjoy huge cascades on many of the falls. A rugged, but A+ adventure.

Panthertown is awesome! I was there two weeks ago. LOTS of water, creeks running high. Didn't even get to go to Greenland Creek - it was just too wet. This would be a fun trip but Can't go on a Thursday.

Once you are on NC 281, go 0.8 miles and turn left on Cold Mountain Road (the fire station is on the right). Proceed just under 6 miles up Cold Mountain Road; the road turns to gravel. At a sharp left turn, a sign will indicate the Panthertown parking is just ahead. It is 0.1 mile from the sharp left turn to a gravel road on the right signed for the parking area; the road is about 0.1 mile long and the parking area is just a wide spot at the end of the road.
