Trail Days is usually held the weekend after Mother's day, they have not yet posted the official days, as it gets closer or when I remember to check I will change the dates if needed.

Worlds largest backpacker gathering and vendor's meeting set in a beautiful town.  We will be camping in the mist of all of the actvities in the campgrounds set up for people in town.  this is a come in and get a spot campground, $5.00 per person for the weekend and $20. for the car or truck to park for the weekend.  We will be posting on a sign at the check in where we are in the campgrounds.

I suggest you pack a backpack as the field is very large and you may have a small hike in to your campsite.  No cars are allowed anywhere near the tent area.

we will be eating a lunch on the way up and either lunch or supper on the way back depending on what time we leave.

To find out more search trail days and you will find lots of information.

We attended the 2012 event, it was so enjoyable we are going back in 2013. Some may even go up on the 16th to get a good spot to camp. We will be again camping at the ball field in beautiful & friendly downtown Damascus.

T'was good. Felt sorry for the vendors and all the rain. Really cut down on traffic for them. Members of the group came back with some nice gifts and we had a chance to view and learn about some of the new equipment being introduced.

Very nice camping once again in the meadow. Janice's big cover kept us dry while we sat around talking, eating, listening to the sounds of drums and of course the hollering of the trail folk. Had a great time. Thanks Janice for planning the event.

If I make it, it will be a day visit only, not overnight. I still want to see TrailDays and will try to get there.

Billville is a HUGE group of folks that are there every year (look for the huge dome tent hung in the air). They host a themed party every year on Sat right after the big drawings from Backpacker in the campground parking lot (about 6pm). This year's theme is "Video Games". So bring a costume or something fun to wear for this. They usually kick off the party with the "Useless Gear Contest". Bring or make up something that would be the most useless thing for a hiker on the AT to have. Even if you do not contribute something, its quite hilarious to watch.

I have never done anything like this but I would love to come. What would I need and what do I need to do?

If you're not hiking the AT then I imagine just show up prepared to camp for 3 days. Im trying to see if I am going to be prepared to come up from springer on the AT.

Way too soon tell who is coming from where, or who might be going up early. Some may go early to hike, some may go early to ride the creeper and enjoy a nice local vintage.
