History and a Hike: Ninety-Six

Leave at 9:00 a.m. sharp.

Difficulty: Moderate

Mileage: 5 to 6 Miles

Required: Whistle, water, and a lunch

Hike organizers can: Remove you from a hike if you sign up for a hike beyond your capability. If you have any doubt at all that you or your guest can't physically handle this hike, please email me (don't post on the hike page) and check with me about this.

Dogs allowed: No

Children under 14: You must check with the hike leader before you sign up with your child please. We need to assess their capabilities.

Paid up members will be given preference on this hike.

Hike description: We are going to be visiting the French and Indian War encampment and hiking the Cherokee Path and Gouedy Trail among others. This is a living history event so please expect we will spend some time viewing the exhibits and talking with the reenactors.

Fee: None

Carpool fee for gas: $5 to 7 (depending on number of passengers in the car)

Safety Rules:

1. Always stay behind the leader and in front of the sweep.

2. If you get separated from the group, sit down in the trail and blow your whistle. We will look for you.
