St. Valentine's Day Weekend Dinner & Dance Party (For singles & couples)

We are joining Craig Barber of Denver Outdoors & Local Scene who is hosting this party, with many other meetup groups, for a nice Valentine's Day Weekend Dinner and Dance! Come celebrate whether you are single or in a couple, it's Valentine's Day Weekend!

Age Group: 30s/40s/50s

Dress: Guys: Suit & tie, sports coat & dress slacks or business casual

Ladies: Long/short cocktail dress or business casual.

We'll have a nice dinner, (a gourmet pasta bar, bread, salad, fruit and dessert), dancing all evening, cash bar, mixers and more.  We've added a free cowboy cha cha dance lesson around 7pm, too.  DJ Curtis Cloutier will be playing great dance music from the 60s/70s/80s/90s and today! We've invited many groups to come and are expecting around[masked] people.

Cost to attend the dinner & dance will be $25 per person at the door.

Save the date, invite your sweetheart or friends, get ready to party!

P.S. You can also get a group rate on a cruise to Alaska in June by visiting the travel table at the dance.

I talked to Craig yesterday who ran the event and he is sorry that the people who looked after the food messed up and caused so much disappointment. I was at his dance in November and the food then was great! But, he had only 125 people at that one. This dance had about 250. Just like the Broncos in the Super Bowl Craig had a plan for last Saturday night and just like the Broncos the plan fell apart! Craig’s been running dances for a few years now and he should have been on top of this but obviously he wasn’t. He won’t be running any more parties now, he’s done, and he’s finished with party planning. On the positive side the dance floor was packed for most of the night, many people did have a good time in spite of the food, too bad we didn’t have more men attend. I can understand how many ladies were disappointed with the lack of male attendance.

Someone made lots of money at the expense of those of us who went to this disappointing 'event'.

It was terrible. Over priced and very disappointing...ran out of food very early..not enought tables (for the people who were lucky enough to get food) to sit.

I agree. For dancing most of it was just jump up and down music. No 50's-60's or swing music that you can really dance to. I would appreciate it if this kind of music was in the mix at future dances

There were about 5 women for every man. I didn't see many men asking any girls to dance. I joined in with a couple I knew for one dance, but that was it. Also, not sure why there was not enough food. The head count was about 300 ahead of time, so who was responsible for ordering? The wine was good! I left with the dancing bug unsatisfied at 9:00!

Remember Terrace Gardens is an "Event Centre" so they don't take credit cards for drinks. Cash bar means "cash bar".

RSVPs are now closed, so if you would like to join us for the dance just show up at the party anytime after 6:30 pm and pay the $25 to get in.

What if you don't want dinner, just the dance?

Then don't eat, seriously it is a buffet so the food is there whether or not you eat so your going to be charged for it....

From the sounds of it It's looking like we will get over 250 to 300 attending. If you are not going to buy your ticket online it would be a good idea to get to the party at 6:30 pm when the event starts.

Can't seem to find how to pay ahead of time. Don't see a pay now button or paypal link.

I don't think there are tickets, you just get on the paid list. Print out your confirmation and bring that just in case.

Are any people coming who are in their 60's?

To pay in advance for the dance and save $5, just go to the Denver Fun Network Web site at: www.denverfunnetwork.com/holidaydance.html, click on the "Buy Now" button at the bottom of the page, that will take you to the online shopping cart so you can purchase your tickets in advance.

Can we attend only the dance and not dinner? Would the cost be the same?

    January 16, 2014

    • Curtis C.

We decided for this party to not have a "dance only" option. The food will be out for the entire night so it's too hard to manage who paid for dinner and who paid for dance only.
