St Patrick's Day Party Bus to Copper/Vail

Feb 13, 2013 update: We are no longer meeting the bus at Office Liquidators, the new meeting place is the RTD Federal Center Station, 11,601 West 2nd Place, Lakewood, CO. (1 block east of Union, 4 blocks south of 6th Ave).We will meet the Arrow Stage Lines bus at the South East corner of the RTD lot (North West corner of Routt and 2nd). Click on this link for a map of the RTD parking lot: www.rtd-denver.com/parknride/pnR_Vicinity_Maps/FederalCenter_Diagram.pdf

Join us for a truly fun experience with your UTC friends & guests. The day buses are a great way to get up to the ski areas and socialize with other members and guests. The Ski bus is a luxury motor coach that can accommodate up to 50 people. The bus has a bathroom, great scenic views, plenty of leg room, and usually can drop us off right by the ski lifts. Bagels, muffins, fruit and juice are provided for the morning trip up. Wine, beer, pop, snacks, and music are provided for the party on the ride home! The bus will drop off at Copper at approximately 8:30 am and then continue onward and arrive in Vail at 9:15 am. On the ride home the ski bus will leave Vail at 4:15 pm, pick up at Copper at 5:00 pm and arrive back in Denver at 7:00 pm, weather and traffic permitting. No hassles from driving, parking, or having to make bathroom stops. (The bus has a bathroom). (Lift tickets not included)

All buses depart at 7:00 am. Plan on arriving at the meeting place at least 30 minutes prior to departure! If you sign up for this meetup you are not confirmed for the trip until you pay. Some people pay for the trip without an RSVP on this site so the low number of RSVPs can be deceiving. You really need to pay for the bus at least 10 days in advance or you run the risk of the bus being sold out and not being on the final guest list. We have a hard cap of 50 seats on the day buses. Please see the instructions below for paying online or stop by one of our club meeting on the 2nd or 4th Thursdays of the month at The Fresh Fish Company.

Is anyone from the St. Patrick's Day ski bus trip missing their purple ski boot? I didn't realize I had the wrong pair until I tried to put them on at Copper on March 30th. They looked just like mine but are a tad smaller. I think the switch happened when we had to put our boots in the under compartments on the bus for the trip home. Then it was dark when we got back so I understand how the mistake might have happened. The boots are ladies size 7.5/8 Rossignol. Please email me if these are yours PLEASE!!!
    Thank you,
    Jacquelyn

I ask the question. Which bus has more fun, the Copper bus or the Vail bus? Check out "Ya Baby, on the Bar" via Youtube and you decide.

As a trip leader, I'd have to say the Copper bus people have more fun! (I deliberately rode back on the Vail bus to create space on the Copper bus so that some of the Vail people could see how much fun the Copper people have dancing on the bar.)

OMG....hands down I would guess that the Copper Bus is the place to be and party!!!! Thank you Curtis and all who help to make the bus trip such a success!

I really liked the return options created by the two bus scenario. It allowed for Vail people to boogie down with the Lefty Lucy crowd at Copper. Additionally, it allowed Copper people on a tight timeline to return home promptly. We could do it again on the 30th - if enough people signup in time for us to get two buses scheduled!

    • James M.

Just to be clear, we need people to *SIGN UP EARLY* so we can be sure to have enough people to get two buses.

Thanks Curtis, James, Rusty, Dave, Heidi, and Everyone in the organizing group who made this a great trip for me - from the hot burritos and jello shots, to the Whistler sweatshirt, lunchtime company, and après-ski bar shenanigans. Great fun! Kristine

Here is the plan for the end of the day. The Vail bus will leave Vail around 4:15 pm, arrive at Copper Mtn at about 4:45pm, and off load any of the Vail skiiers who wants to stay at Copper for the party at Jacks. If any of the Copper people want to get back to Denver early then they can hop on the Vail bus for an early departure. The Vail bus will leave Copper at about 5 pm. We are pushing back the departure time of the Copper bus to 6:00 pm so we can enjoy the party at Jacks Bar with Lefty Lucy.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
