Following on from Curtis' note to get the bus filled up for this Saturday
(Dec 15), there will be a ski lesson provided that there are enough people who
sign up for the bus.
It will be pitched at lower intermediate level, which equates to Level 3
/ 4 at the major ski areas, if you have taken lessons at one of them.
1. You can safely mount / dismount a high speed quad chair.
2. You are comfortable skiing a green run, e.g. High Point, from the
top of the American Flyer chair at Copper. You can make reasonable turns to
control your speed.
To get the ski legs (and other body parts) working as this will probably be
the first time out for many of us this season. The pace of the lesson will be
matched to how everyone feels.
Emphasis will be on the preferred position for head, hands & feet.
Side-slipping in and out of turns, different shape turns, turning back up the
hill to control speed, all leading to smooth linked turns down the mountain so
that the end of one turn becomes the start of the next.
Plus having fun while doing all of the above.
See you on the slopes!
