  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • For those who are into politics and current affairs, Town Hall regularly has great lectures and book readings ... and usually for only $5. http://www.townhallse...

We actually do go to some Town Hall events. There was one Monday night, and another is in the works for January 11.

I am going to the Tim Wu "Who Will Control The Internet?" talk on 11/19 at 7pm, if anyone wants to join me, then go somewhere afterwards to discuss.

If anyone is willing to act as event host for any particular event at Town Hall please let me know so I can get it onto the calendar and people can sign up. It super easy and loads of fun!

I like Terri's idea: follow-up attending the lectures with group discussion.

If no Assistant Organizer with this meetup group picks up on this idea please check out the Seattle Book Club meetup group. I am an Assistant Organizer for that group and I have posted two author readings/lecture at the Town Hall. The next one will be on Nov. 17 when Simon Winchester will discuss his book "The Atlantic" which is a history of that ocean. Mr. Winchester is a very entertaining writer and lecturer.

It would be good to attend some of these in a group, and go out for coffee afterwards for further discussion.

Awesome idea. I've been to Town Hall events in the past and have been very impressed -- especially since the events are practically free to attend!
