South Temple has been Salt Lake City's most prestigious address since the city was first settled. Walking along South Temple today you will see stately mansions, magnificent churches, and impressive clubhouses. Utah Heritage Foundation's Historic South Temple Street Walking Tour Guide contains descriptions of 39 historic buildings from State Street to Virginia Street, a map, and numerous contemporary and historic photos. Completing the tour on foot requires approximately 2 hours and covers a distance of 3.8 miles. You can find the summary map here and the downloadable guide here.
Afterwards, we'll gather at The Tavernacle for their bingo and karaoke night beginning at 9:00 p.m. Yes, you read that right. It ought to be interesting! Here's what CityWeekly says: "The Tavernacle’s outstanding karaoke nights are a great mix of no cover, $1 draft beer, games and some of the most talented karaoke singers in town. Sundays are reserved for straight-up karaoke, but Mondays and Tuesdays up the ante with bingo. Spectators and singers alike can play for prizes, with numbers called between singers—everyone’s a winner."
