Hike through the Wildflowers with the Kids

Every year Albion Basin lights up with amazing colors of the wildflowers. Let's take the kids hiking up in the mountains to view the wildflowers!  We will be hiking Cecret Lake at Albion Basin at Alta ski resort up Little Cottonwood Canyon.  We will start hiking AT 10am so I suggest you get there at 930am because we will be taking the shuttle to get to the trailhead since this is a large group and parking is very limited!

To get to the trailhead, head east up Little Cottonwood Canyon (9400 South in Sandy Utah).  You'll pass the Snowbird Ski resort and drive through Alta Ski Resort.  Stay on the main road, and as you enter upper parking lots for Alta, you'll see a small information booth before the road becomes dirt.  Park near the information booth and catch the free shuttle up the dirt road to the trailhead.    Parking is limited and fills up fast on the weekends, so the shuttle is the recommended way to get there.

Bring your cameras! Other important things to bring are water for everyone, snacks, sunscreen, and light jackets.

Yes it turned out to be quite the kerfuffle with the shuttles I apologize for that! Knew it would be crowded but didn't realize they wouldn't have more shuttles available:/ will know for next time!

Just one more calcification please. The time under the event says 9:00 and you say under the description to be there at 9:30, hike starts at 10:00. Just want to make sure I have the right time. Thank you!

Sounds like it's Cecret Lake then!!

    July 6

    • Moriarty

Please feel free to google the different hikes to get that information as I would have to do the same, thanks:)

      July 6

    • Michelle

Just thought you would have that information in your head. I can certainly do that, but it looks like Cecret has already been decided, correct?

To be respectful of the forest service rules and to keep the group down to a minimum I have now put a limit to the size of this group going especially since it gets very crowded up there this time of year. I'm sorry if this placed you on a waitlist. We will need to split into 2-3 group as well if everyone shows up. Please update your RSVP if you are not able to make it to allow those who are on the waitlist to go!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
