Pioneer Day Hike - Mount Raymond from Butler Fork Trail

Distance: About 8 miles round trip
Elevation Gain: 3500 feet
Hiking Time: About 6 hours
Difficulty: Somewhat Strenuous
Scenery: Spectacular

Butler Fork Trail Head is about 8 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon on the North side of the road.  Travel along Butler Trail for .5 miles. Take the split left at the sign to Mill A Basin. Continue on trail about 2.5 miles to Baker Pass. Take Trail to the left at the pass up the ridge line for about a mile to the Mount Raymond Summit. Some scrambling (not to bad) is involved as you hike up the ridge line.

Just a reminder, the Marathon tomorrow morning might impact your driving route to the 6200 Park and Ride. Might be a good idea to review the route and plan accordingly. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Remember we are meeting at the Park and Ride at 6200 S and Wasatch Blvd. Not at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. That lot is usually full on weekends and Holidays.
