    • Roger

Good news it only took 12 minutes to hold out, there is now better weather:)

  • Bryan

I'm a few miles from the starting point of the hike, looking out my window and there's mixed blue skies and white puffies as of now.

There is no reason to not go the extra .5 to .75 miles to cathrine imo, but you can always decide there

I'm planning to do this hike to take photos... but not if it's foggy! Does 90 percent humidity mean foggy? lol

    August 19

    • Roger

The fog rolling up the hills is sometimes the best type of pic to take, GO!

      August 19

    • Jessica

Yeah, that's what I was thinking!

sorry to bail again, my schedule is crazy. I hope it's ok that I keep trying next week and stuff!

  • Delilah

We can stop at the second lake if it's too rainy and cold

    1 · August 19

  • Roger

Current weather cloudy but 0% chance of rain. This does not mean you should not have rain gear, but it does probably mean that a flashlight is prudent as there will be little to no light at sunset if it is really cloudy. Also bring a second shirt or warmer clothes.

This will be my first time. My book says the first .6 is steep then it evens out for the most part. **everyone bring your headlamp**

    Is this hike fairly flat?

    August 19

    • Roger

It is fairly flat, but there are a couple steeper but still moderate sections right at the beginning and under the damn. They are not very long. After that it is really easy.

On weather, check this link about 2pm for a good forecast. I have done this hike in heavy rain and hail and thunder, as long as you are not going up to Catherine pass and sunset peak the weather is no problem, go buy a $0.97 rain poncho from wallmart:)

Can I meet the group at the parking lot in Brighton? I live near there and it'd be much easier for me. Thanks.

Yes. We will probably be up to the Brighton parking lot around 6:30

Weather says "monsoon flow returns" for tomorrow and Wednesday. I guess that means heavy rain? Stay tuned....
