Providence UX Meetup: Future proof responsive web design and Jeet

This month we have two great talks.

Future Proof Responsive Web Design

How can we build experiences for the devices of tomorrow?  Explore the techniques for building performant, maintainable and future-proof responsive designs.

Adam Chambers is a senior developer at Digital Surgeons, a full-service creative agency based in New Haven, Connecticut. Adam is the lead architect on the Gumby Framework project, creator of ResponsiveComments.js and a web standards enthusiast.

Jeet Framework

Jeet started as a fork of Semantic.gs and quickly evolved into one of the most advanced grid systems available today. It is the result of drastically overthinking the grid and it's incredibly easy to use. In this talk, Cory Simmons, the creator/maintainer of Jeet, will demonstrate it's capabilities and build a beautiful, responsive, website right before your very eyes in just a few minutes.

Cory Simmons is: a developer at MojoTech; creator/maintainer of the Jeet Framework; author for TutsPlus, CSS Tricks, and Packt Publishing; has worked for Scholastic and World Vision Charities; and he hates long walks on the beach - ain't nobody got time for that.

OH! And the mismatched gutter thing wasn't a subpixel rounding issue (although those exist as fringe cases), it was because I was using a fairly unspecific decimal ratio: .33 instead of something more specific like [masked] or, even better, 1/3.

No problem. As Marissa said, it was so anticlimactic that after all my OCD, it was "off" so I'm glad it actually wasn't off. :)
