Designing interfaces that interact with bluetooth- and internet-enabled devices introduces new UX challenges for designers and product managers to tackle. Hitting a home run with wearables and other connected products requires designers to find elegant ways to push technology out of the way. Learn from leading and failing UX examples dealing with device syncing, detecting battery life, iBeacons, and more to ensure you make informed UX decisions that truly make these devices a welcomed extension of your users' mobile experience. Through several client/internal projects designers at Citrrus have been climbing up the learning curve of wearables and BTLE-connected devices over the last 6 months and can speak first-hand about the pitfalls and opportunities UX designers must account for in order to gracefully handle syncing, geofencing, battery life, iBeacons, out-of-range notifications, and more. This presentation will feature numerous visual examples that will spark ideas and serve as a caution for every UX-focused professional.
