Content CU: Discussing The Elements of Content Strategy

Join us on May 21st for the inaugural meeting of Content CU — the new content strategy discussion group in Champaign-Urbana. We will be discussing The Elements of Content Strategy by Erin Kissane. This is a short book that serves as a great introduction to the concept of content strategy and how practitioners work, including some key tools. You do not have to read the book to attend the meetup! Anyone interested in the content challenges of digital and cross-channel media is welcome to attend; you do not have to have a specific type of job or field of study to participate.

The publisher of this book, A Book Apart, has graciously given us a discount of 30% off. Use the code AI8HBLGJHMOD.

The discount code is for 10% off, and I've set it for a maximum of 20 purchasers, but let me know if your number of attendees changes.

Please plan on joining us the 3rd Wednesday of the month for more content strategy discussions. In June, our focus will be sharing case studies. Bring a piece of writing or an example of content problem you’re facing and share with the group for discussion and advice. In future months, we will be trying out a variety of formats from reading books and articles, to case studies, and presentations.

This month we’re trying out the bar at Big Grove, but we plan on moving around Champaign-Urbana for subsequent meetups. If you know of great spot for a casual discussion, let us know.

If you have ideas for future discussion topics, please post them on our discussion board.

Keep up with more content strategy topics by following us on Twitter (@contentCU) or liking us on Facebook.

I thought the discussion was great, even though we got off topic at times but that is expected and welcomed. The new folks at the group brought energy and the different perspectives from everyone is appreciated.
