Tell us a bit about where you work/your role

My background is in marketing and research - I have worked agency side in advertising in London and client side at the BBC. As a User Experience Researcher, I help clients to focus on audience needs and goals during the design process.

Which book has most influenced your thinking on UX?

Tricky to answer but I think it has to be 'The Design of Everyday Things' by Donald Norman. It was one of my undergraduate Psychology texts and introduced me to the world of usability.

I am a Director and UX Researcher at Mark Boulton Design, a small web design studio in Penarth (near Cardiff). I also run a small indie publisher of practical design books with my husband and the team at Mark Boulton Design - Five Simple Steps.
