I've been to the Rhythm Room, but I wish there was venues like that in the Mesa area. I do like the recent offerings made by the Mesa Arts Center however, and the fact that there's a new coffee joint right across the street :)
Need them in, or close to the Mesa area. With smoke not allowed to "leak" in. There are plenty of bars that have music in my area, but virtually all of them disregard the fact that smoke gets in all the time.
I've been to BB's Jazz, Blues and Soups in ST. Louis recently. I loved everything about it; there was no smoking; that it served good food (also had many vegetarian choices, which I am); supported local musicians, and that you could sit anywhere in the room and still be close to the stage. I also enjoyed Jazz Fest in N.O. recently. It doesn't get much better than that!
An outdoor concert in the wintertime supporting local musicians, food culture and animal charities. Anything having to do with support of animals, as I am a professional pet sitter by trade.
If I am made to feel welcome in any group, I then feel appreciated. If I feel appreciated I am more than willing to be serviceable.
I am a long time music lover (Saw the real Count Basie in Chicago at age 5), but no C & W please :)
