Am I misunderstanding this? The policy against firearms appears to only be in reference to SEVRAR meetings and functions. This would not for example, prevent a Realtor from carrying while showing homes or anywhere else outside of a SEVRAR sponsored event, correct?

They always want to restrict gun use. Its sad people think they can violate the bill of rights. Best of luck to all of you.

Why would SEVRAR think that they can prevent me from a God given right ??? I will be there to comment. We work with strangers in the public place and I always carry.

Hey James, thanks for chiming in. The restriction that I would like to see go away is only at SEVRAR. Another security "expert" said that in most cases around the country it is a don't ask don't tell policy and it seems to work well. In other words, they don't say one way or the other on restricting carry, or how one might be allowed under certain circumstances to carry. This is why I made the motion to take the language out of policy. For the past several years, this has, in effect, been the way things have been handled as there was no "notification" posted so even though it was in the bylaws, without posting no legal notification was provided to members. No surprise to you or other knowledgeable members of this group, there have been NO issues during this time. Please feel free to call me before the meeting to discuss further. [masked]

I do not see this listed in the proposed by law changes doc.
http://www.sevrar.com/docs/pdfs... is there another one I should be looking at?

Thanks Hercel, that makes more sense. The vote and comments on this will be at the Dec 13 meeting. I would be happy to show up and comment but I have nothing to do with this industry. Would that matter?
