Hi Toby and thanks for offering to spread the word. I'll prepare a more formal outline and send it to VEVA shortly so they can include that on their homepage, right now it is just a small blurb on the upcoming events section:

For those who can't make it, we'll try to get a decent video recording of the talk this time around.

thanks for the heads up on this event...it looks really interesting and I'd like to help spread the word.
do you have a link to this anywhere?  the map link doesn't really explain the nature of the workshop.
thanks Justin!

Hey everyone and hope to hear you are getting at least a bit of winter ebike riding in. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to attend more of the kWhr rides this year but those that I did join in with were really great. Thanks for keeping that going.

For those interested in an evening learning session I'm giving a talk next Wednesday from 7:30-9:30 that's all about ebike hub motors. It'll cover all the nitty gritty of what kind of failures and troubleshooting issues we've encountered over the years, with a specific emphasis on water damage and tricks and techniques on how to prevent that.  Plus there will be some more technical but still understandable discussion on motor modelling and motor optimization which can be helpful in better understanding how to get the most a hub drive system. And of course, a bit of talk on what's possibly in store for hub motors in the future.

The VEVA presentations happen on the BCIT campus in the cafeteria building SE1.  I always get lost and confused for 5 minutes before finding it, but for those better with maps the location is shown here:
