I purchased a scooter style e-bike from a friend. He only had it for a few months before I purchased it. But it doesn't go very far on a charge, it gets about 20km. I've seen this bike on some websites that say it should get 40km on a charge. I realize that a lot of factors come into play and that I don't have the optimal conditions. For example, I weigh almost 200 lbs and I live in Vancouver where it's impossible to avoid traversing hills. I also don't pedal much, mostly just when starting or going up hills, when the bike slows down.
Do you think getting only 20km on a charge is normal under these circumstances, or should I be doing some diagnostics to see if there is an issue with the motor or battery or something like that?
I love riding and would use it a lot more if I could get more distance out of it. Thanks in advance for any comments you may have.
