Join us for our very first Vancouver Entrepreneur Meetup of 2009! Welcome back our loyal regulars and a warm welcome to the new members who have joined us (and there are many of you who were keen enough over the holidays to join us. We are well over 1400 members to start 2009.
If you are serious about growing your business in 2009, please RSVP to attend this event. This is your opportunity to PROMOTE and GROW your BUSINESS! OskarVery friendly crowd of people. Nice place to mingle and talk about mostly tech start-ups. Not many brick-and-mortar business type of the entrepreneurs.

Erik MacKinnonThe meetup itself performed admirably - the crowd it attracted was absolutely awful. Here’s why: The title is: “Vancouver Entrepreneur Meetup” The crowd was: “Financial services salespeople, realtors, mortgage brokers and a whole load of other extremely aggressive shills mixed with a few true entrepreneurs”
I was overwhemled by very rude people who were interrupting conversations, shoving Sun Life flyers in my face and asking for my business card even after I told them I wasn’t even remotely interested in their products. Even the dude that sponsored the “30 second elevator pitch” went on for about 5-6 minutes, completely boring those of us there and making me want to walk out.
Unless some sort of qualification is done to have ENTREPRENEURS ONLY at this meetup - and I mean those of us that actually OWN a BUSINESS and are not just slinging Investor’s Group / Sun Life / blah blah blah - I won’t be returning.
So in a sentence: the meetup was absolutely awful.
