As you all know, every month we have our networking events for Vancouver Entrepreneur Meetup but many of you have requested for seminar-based events to supplement the social aspect where you can spend more time with experts who can help your business on particular issues.
Your requests are heard and the result is the launch of the Vancouver Small Business Meetup whose primary aim is to provide practical information, tools, and advice for starting, operating and growing your small business. We hand-pick well-known speakers who would have charged hundreds to thousands of dollars per seminar to create workshops specifically for our members.
Our first seminar is all about pitchings, over the last 2+ years I have seen some great elevator pitches and introductions but mostly, people do not have their pitches down or do not know how to present themselves properly in a networking event.
So many small-business people are out there ?hawking? their wares in a kind of frenzy of activity, desperate to discover as many opportunities as possible to talk about their business in hopes of uncovering prospects and opportunities. The result is a LOT of white noise and insincerity that creates defenses in others and actually limits business-building opportunities from taking root. Common pitfalls
Objectives for session
- Missing the rapport-building step (not earning the right to ask for help or talk about your business).
- Insincerity (talking like you?re reading a script)
- Not cultivating trust (networking with an agenda)
- Lack of confidence ? increased anxiety takes away from sincerity
? To help your business gain sales and to help you gain confidence by teaching you how to present and promote your message authentically and sincerely using a simple step-by-step framework. Workshop will be facilitated by
