Riding level: Begintermediate (some experience/comfort on trails and obstacles)
South Surrey is a great ride for those who want to ride in a fairly non technical area. Also a good place to get some cardio going, learn some new skills ... and just spend some good ol' time on two wheels.
We will do a lap or two of BLT: a fun flowy turny smooth singletrack trail that encircles the forest. Then we can step it up and do a lap of Junk Yard Dog: a blue trail that intertwines the different areas of the park and contains some technical features such as log rolls and small drops. It contains roots and a couple optional wooden structures. The park is on a gentle slope and so there is nothing steep but is always going up and down so you definitely get a workout.
We will meet in the parking area by the water tower/tennis courts/dirt jumps. To get there from southbound 148th Street, turn right into the Softball City/Bike Park entrance (south of 24th Ave). Take your second left into the parking lot, then head to the right looking for the water tower and people on bikes. I can be reached at[masked] in case of lateness or lostness.
