Fromme - Executioner (Intermediate), late afternoon or night ride

  • Apr 4, 2013 · 5:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

**check back here around 3 or 3:30 in case of rainy weather updates**

I'm planning to ride Executioner, and then from there either Baden Powell back to Mountain Highway, or Dreamweaver, or possibly Lower Crippler, then climb Dempsey Trail back to Baden Powell and back to Mountain Highway. Trail choice depends on who joins the ride.

Upper intermediate skill level. We'll ride at a moderate pace.

Meet at the second gate by the toilets and the water towers. You can park at or below Coleman on Mountain Highway. Give yourself about 10 mins to pedal up to the second gate.

Thanks for changing the time - I can make 5. I have a decent light and will bring it along, although would prefer to finish before it gets dark (I was up the other night and could ride without a light until 8ish). I think 3 hours will be enough riding for me on a 'school night' :)

glad the timing works for you! i think having lights is good just in case, but we should have lots of daylight.

i just checked the weather. it's looking like it's going to rain. i'm ok with some rain but if it's torrential, i'm not going to ride. i guess we'll just see how it's looking tomorrow. i'll try to call it by 3 or 3:30 tomorrow if it's looking bad so check back here.

if anyone wants to go no matter what i can leave the ride posted. if you're not going, please change your rsvp so people aren't waiting.

fingers crossed for anything less than torrential rain.

    hi all,
looking forward to the ride tomorrow.
fyi, executioner is upper intermediate level, getting close to advanced level, but easier than some shore trails. there are some steep and some technical sections.
we should be ok without lights, but if you have them, it would be good to bring.

Hey Bart. Still trying to figure out how to use the meet up messaging system. I will go and buy the light before I come out. I do not have the elbow or knee pads at the moment but am planning on purchasing them. Do you have a recommendation on where to shop for gear? Not sure where the waiver is are you able to email it to me please?

      hi dimitri.
you should be ok without lights but having one just in case is a good idea. most bike shops sell armour. i noticed a few days ago dunbar cycles had some armour on sale. you could call and check if they still have some. it was about half price.
by waiver i mean what was posted in the meetup description above. i was mainly referring to thisOrganizer(s) Reservations

    Hi,
this ride sounds sweet as an intro for me to Mt Fromme! I will bring a light but I dont think its much good if it gets very dark as it was a bit of a cheapie!

    April 3, 2013

  • Oscar

Sounds good. I'll bring a back up light just in case

    April 3, 2013

i'll set it for 5. oscar and fiona and dimitri, do you have lights? if so we can go a bit later. 5 should be ok without lights.

Have changed my RSVP to 'no', as 4 is too early for me. I'll change to 'yes' if we end up meeting at 5 or after :)

    Hello

4 is a little early for me unfortunately. Any interest in meeting at 5.30? I could possibly stretch to 5 too...

    April 3, 2013

  • Oscar

Hi Bart, do you think lights will be needed for this one?
