Ride Burnaby Mtn XC/AM

I will lead the group on a XC/AM ride through some of the familiar and not so familiar trails of Burnaby Mtn. The pace will suitable for beginners and intermediate and patient advanced riders. We will be riding for 1 1/2 to 2 hours generally.

As this ride goes year round and we ride in the darkness of the fall and winter months you will need lights for the Thursday night rides.

[masked] to contact me =)

I'm REALLY new to mountain biking, I've only been to 1 session which was this past Wednesday... I was able to do the very basics, do you think it's an appropriate trail for someone my skill level?

Well R Jaime Smith you have to start some where. The thing about mountain biking is it is a sport of progression. You don't go from the couch to the bike and expect to rock it. Takes ALLOT of time on the bike in the trails to build your fitness and skills. There are people in this group that started out where your at a year ago, they kept coming out consistently and now they are rocking it. You gotta wanta....your welcome to join us.

Its not the standard lap you might expect Gary, but ya you'll get some mileage in =)

    June 7, 2013

Long time since I've ridden at Burnaby. I assume that it'll be 1 lap of 'up & down'? I might be up for a 2nd lap, if anyone wants to join me, as I need the mileage/practice.

Alison - if you're coming from downtown, the best way to the start point at the junction of North & Chapman is the Skytrain to Lougheed Station and then get the 97 or C24 bus to the Robinson St stop on Clarke. Chapman is opposite and you can ride to the start point at the end of the road! Hope this helps...

I would like to attend this, but i don't have a vehicle (well, car2go but that doesn't help!). I know the 135 bus goes to the top of Burnaby mountain, is the starting point in close proximity to that?
