Ride Burnaby Mtn XC/AM

I will lead the group on a XC/AM ride through some of the familiar and not so familiar trails of Burnaby Mtn. The pace will suitable for beginners and intermediate and patient advanced riders. We will be riding for 1 1/2 to 2 hours generally.

As this ride goes year round and we ride in the darkness of the fall and winter months you will need lights for the Thursday night rides.

[masked] to contact me =)

Great ride around the lower trails with some nice technical climbing practice up from the bottom of the North Road trails, then a ride to the top for a night ride decent down Gear Jammer!

Thanks for dragging me up the mountain. It was definitely a leg burner! In total we ended up with over 450m of vertical gain.

Was really nice to do some XC / techie stuff tonight. Aside from spending 3 days drinking beer and resting my foot on a table it feels like I have spent the rest of the last 2 or 3 weeks biking up roads and down trails... which is lots of fun, but sometimes it's fun bike up the trails too! Thanks Charles.

(Not sure how I got split from the group briefly, but that was to be expected since I was hanging at the back taking it easy.)

Guess I need to decide soon if I should pull the trigger and buy some lights. Does it really work? Riding on trails like that with lights? Is it as enjoyable?

Night riding is awesome, it really extends the riding season right throughout the fall, winter, spring. Best enjoyed with a bar and helmet mounted light.

Night riding is a bit different but basically just as fun, and more fun in some ways.

Endo down a drop at LSCR. Landed on my arm and compressed the rib cage. No cracks, but super sore. Will be back!
