Fromme - Begintermediate

  • Oct 23, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • Fromme - Second Gate

Well fall has arrived - lights at night will be needed!
This month we'll switch between SFU and Fromme.

This week's ride will be on the lower trails on Fromme!!!!

Riding level: Begintermediate*

We'll meet at the second gate (by the washrooms/water tower) then head up and ride Bobsled, Floppy Bunny, others... followed by King of the Shore or Natural High and then out on Lower Griffen.

If you have questions - send me a message or post a comment.

*Begintermediates

  • You’ve been mountain biking for at least one year or have decent general riding skills and good fitness.
  • You're capable of controlling bike speed and direction on moderate (green and blue) single-track.
  • You can handle terrain that is slightly technical, with smaller rocks,  roots,  and some drops. You may get off your bike and walk when the terrain gets technical.
  • You can climb on single-track as long as it is not too technical.

Hey guys, thanks for a good ride, awesoem conditions. It was great to check out some of the trails on Fromme, even if it was in the dark. Catch you next time...

Nice ride though I was still tired from the previous night's Buntzen Burner so I climbed even slower than usual. The one time that Richard doesn't show up, I was early enough to get a head start. ;-)

Not able to ride tonight, my rear tire "tubeless" still leaking air. GRRRR!! See you all next season on Richard's rides!

    October 23, 2013

    • Murray

Throw in a tube, problem solved! ;-) And there is no season so there's no end. :-P FYI there will be weekly Wednesday night rides into mid-December as long as there is interest.

I might not make it.....depends on how fast I can get my brakes replaced

    October 23, 2013

  • Christine W.

Sorry, change of plans, have fun!

    October 23, 2013

  • M

Decided I'm gonna try to make it happen... drugged myself up... we'll see how it goes!

    October 23, 2013

  • Vera

Gonna try to make it but will for sure be late, so took my name off the 'official' list

It will be there someone who can lead the group

    October 23, 2013

    • Richard

Yes - I'm sure someone can lead - many of them have been on the trails - it is just a matter of splitting the group up in two groups.

      October 23, 2013

    • Murray

Probably me though others who know Fromme can also step up.

      October 23, 2013

  • Warren

My fork is also part of Fox recall so for that reason I'm out for tonight's ride

    October 23, 2013

  • Kris M.

Just realized I have to see Chris Cornell at the Orpheum tonight so no ride for me. See y'all next time!

    October 23, 2013

  • Richard

Well the universe is trying to tell me something here. I just found out there is a re-call on my front fork, so my Remedy is out of commission and I haven't taken my other Trek in for an overdue service, so I guess I'm not going to make it tomorrow. I will leave the ride up - there are enough of you going tomorrow who know the trails. For those who are new to the group or first timers - just ask for the Meetup group when you get to the second gate. If you still get 20 or so coming out, I'd split the group into two and switch rides between Bobsled and Floppy Bunny. Have a great ride everyone!

My fork is also part of the recall....should I really not ride it till i get it fix?

      October 23, 2013

    • Richard

I'm not taking any chances - the recall states stop using it immediately... better safe than sorry!

      October 23, 2013

  • M

Sorry... thought I might be able to avoid this cold but it got me. See you next week!

    October 23, 2013

  • James B.

....damn brake pads need replacing.....Hopefully I will still be able to make it. Going to try!

    October 23, 2013

  • Tristan

    October 22, 2013

    • Richard

Sorry to hear! Glad you enjoyed all the riding this year... rest and heal - next season will be here before you know it!

      October 22, 2013

    • Murray

No need to let the new bike go unused! I hear that Richard needs a bike for the Fromme ride. ;-)
