Ride Burnaby Mtn XC/AM

I will lead the group on a XC/AM ride through some of the familiar and not so familiar trails of Burnaby Mtn. The pace will suitable for beginners and intermediate and patient advanced riders. We will be riding for 1 1/2 to 2 hours generally.

As this ride goes year round and we ride in the darkness of the fall and winter months you will need lights for the Thursday night rides.

[masked] to contact me =)

Rules and common courtesies are expected and should be followed while sharing public facilities, grounds or services and in order to keep the peace in the public's eye it behoves us to present our best behaviors and comply. Personally, I was not aware of the right of way rule but it does make sense to share the trail. We are not in such a big hurry to end the fun anyway.

Pretty sure I ran in to this group and have some feedback re trail etiquette. 1. Right of way traditionally goes to the cyclist pedalling uphill unless both can easily ride past each other. Thank you to the 1 person who got this right

    2. When you are in a large group, instead of saying there are a bunch of us, say how many so people know when they can get back on the trail 3. When you are on trails that have a lot of walkers i.e. lower Burnaby Mountain you need to slow down, be respectful and even give them the right of way. . These are not mountain bike trails. They are multiuse trails and if mountain bikers piss off enough walkers we will lose our rights to use them. 4. You would probably have less impact on other users if you split in to 2 smaller groups and meet up at the end. PS I would not have commented on this but this is not the first time we have run in to these problems on these trails lately.

Hills, thrills, and spills - you experienced the ride, now here's the movie. It's all of the excitement but only half the torture:

Hi all. I'm going to be there and I'll likely ride some lower trails then go up to the top and come down naheeno, gear jammer, upper cut and lower snake. If you're new to bby, I can help you navigate your way around, but I'm a relative beginner and slow on the downhill portions.

Well folks I have been invited to ride Whistler Sunday, so I will not be attending. How ever I will leave this up so you all can get together and have fun.
