*Begintermediates

You've been mountain biking for at least one year or have decent general riding skills and good fitness.

You're capable of controlling bike speed and direction on moderate (green and blue) single-track.

You can handle terrain that is slightly technical, with smaller rocks,  roots,  and some drops. You may get off your bike and walk when the terrain gets technical.

You can climb on single-track as long as it is not too technical.

    Update:
I'm scheduled for a day surgery on Thursday to re-align my ankle bones(medial malleolus) and ligaments. There will be a couple of screws that will hold my bones in place while healing. So I'll be out for a long while:)

Damn.....I have to stop recommending the ice, the last guy I made the ice & 6 pack to ended up having a broken ankle! 6 pack only in future....
Joking aside Warren you are one tough cookie, you were still smiling at the bottom of Espresso.....speedy recovery, we will see you in a few weeks.

Update on Warren! It turned out to be a tad more serious than first thought. He has a broken fibula - just below the knee and a chipped ankle bone. He's in a 3/4 cast and has to see the orthopedic surgeon on Monday. So he'll be out for while. We certainly wish him a speedy recovery.

Another excellent night for riding Fromme! Split the group so some got the Bobsled lap in while the rest of us pushed on to Expresso. Expresso was in surprisingly good shape given the BC Bike Race was through it on Sunday. Digger said it would only need a couple of days work to fix it back up again. Warren - hope you're feeling better and it is nothing serious - RICE it! Rest, Ice, Compress & Elevate... Here is the GPS: http://connect.garmin.com/moder...

    • Arturo

Hey Fiona! Was good see you riding your couch on the trails when I was riding my wooden chair! Lol! See you on the next!

    • Fiona

Hi Arturo! It's good to see you back on the trails! One day, I'll have to try riding a hard tail on those trails. I've been spoiled by the plushness of dual suspension! The climb up would certainly be easier. :)

      July 3

  • Arturo

Hey Warren, hope you are not feeling too much pain in your ankle and I hope you heal well and soon! Take care!

Awesome, awesome ride. The only thing that could improve it is a shuttle. Thanks Richard for your usual calm influence!

Trail forks.com says Espresso was worn down by the BC Bike Race. All the nice trail work has turned into roots instead of flowy dirt. Just saying...

    July 1

    • Fiona

I'm sure it took a beating, but it's still going to be dry from two days of sunshine. All trail work gets eroded over time. Roots are a quintessential part of the North Shore!

I see that one of the instructors from Endless was down it yesterday and reported it green - so let's go see how it held up!

I haven't been to Fromme before, any tips on parking? Looking forward to it!

    July 2

    • Richard

There are parking restrictions on Fromme.
You have to park at Coleman or below and then ride up Mountain Highway to the Meetup spot.
Given that Expresso still seems to be the favourite trail you may wish to park on Dempsey as that's where we'll be coming out on.

    • Simon D.

      Great, thanks!

  • James B.

Will have to see if I can grip my handlebars by the end of today...but definitely want to get out and ride some Frommeo (Fromme Rodeo?!). I might get up there earlier, got a new coil on my DH bike and I am absolutely itching to try it....which unfortunately means walking the bike! Seriously, where is the chairlift up to the top?! :D

  • Richard

So what should we do... Expresso or Bobsled/Floppy Bunny?

    June 27

    • Fiona

I've only done 7th once and didn't pay attention to timings. I'd think you'd need an extra 30-40 minutes to do the extra climb and descent. I probably won't catch up to the group as I won't be able to start any earlier.

      June 30

    • Dallas

I'm jumping ship to partake of the 7th extended ride with Fiona.

  • Martin

Personally i really like Expresso and Bobsled :-)

    June 27

    • Martin

Yeah you are right, Richard :) i would then prefer Expresso..

      1 · June 27

    • Jeff B

Do a lap of Bobsled and then head up and do Expresso! It's only another 15 mins of riding.

  • Cheryl

Never ridden fromme before so cant comment on trail pref. Richard you know my skill level on the descent, but i am game for some cardio climbing as long as not too technical. C u soon!

    June 27

  • Ben T.

Hi my name's Ben. This is my first ride with you guys. I've been biking a couple years now but for the past year I've been out with a back injury, and have only done about three rides since then. I'd be totally cool with doing Expresso (even though I've never done it), but you guys may have to wait around a bit for me. I've done lots of other trails on fromme (bobsled, floppy bunny, upper/lower griffin, natural high, and a while ago I did seventh/leopard.

    June 27

    • Richard

Given the list of trails you've already hit - you'll love Expresso! And we're in no hurry...
