At Partnerpedia, we're in the process of building out a relatively large and complex Chef environment (40-50 servers). I'd say the biggest challenge for us has been figuring out the development process and workflows rather than the technology itself. Chef development can be a big leap for people with traditional sysadmin backgrounds.
Keep us updated about DevOps Days Vancouver. I'd love to attend!
As Jenny mentioned, we're organizing DevOps Days Vancouver and hoping to attract the best DevOps folks from Vancouver, Seattle, Portland and anywhere else we can find them and dig them out of the trenches for a few days. If you want to grab a coffee and talk DevOps, let me know!Phil@philwhlnOn Fri, Jun 7, 2013 at 11:19 AM, Jenny Yang <[address removed]> wrote:
There are definitely more devops folks in Vancouver who want to get together and learn! As a matter of fact, a few of us (me, plus folks from Nodefly, ActiveState, Backbone Technology…) want to put on a DevOps Days Vancouver (devopsdays.org) at around the end of September. We’ve been in touch with the main DevOps Days organizers and the folks at Devopsdays Austin are also helping. We’re looking for more local enthusiasts so please ping me if you’re interested to help make this happen!
