I subscribed to this list because this group is always planning great speakers and events.
I'm an editor for OReilly here in Boston.

Peter and Darren, I'd be happy to send you some OReilly books and
swag for your events.

Send me your mailing address at [address removed] and I'll have a package sent out to you.

If there are any folks in the group interested in reviewing or writing for OReilly, feel free to drop me a line at any time.

I wish I could make it to your next two events!

Subject: [ruby-112] Hack Day at Nitobi HQ: Free Beer, Pizza and RIAs

Hi all,
With Peter's permission, I wanted to post a quick message about an
upcoming event that we figure might appeal to this group.

Nitobi is hosting a Hack Day free-for-all on Saturday, October 20 at
their new Gastown office. Here's the spiel:

"Nitobi will supply the hacking essentials like caffeine and pizza
(maybe even some beer ;) . The one stipulation is of course that
everyone, either in a small group or alone, builds something cool and
presents it to the rest of us (true to the spirit of the hack day).
This something cool could be in the RIA space (Ajax, Flash, AIR,
JavaFX, etc) but it could also be hardware or otherwise."

Doors will open at 9:00am, and people will present in the evening.
Bring your laptop to our new Gastown office and build something cool!

There's more on Dave's blog:

And Facebook and Upcoming for RSVPs:

Any questions? Ask away. Thanks. DB.
