Helo's Dollhouse, a Joint Event with the BC Browncoats

La Fontana Caffe (map)

Selected By: Val

We'll get two full hours of Tahmoh Penikett for this night, a joint event with the BC Browncoats.

At 7pm, we'll watch the new BSG episode "No Exit", and at 9pm we will get to see the premiere of "Dollhouse" the new series by Buffy & Firefly creator Joss Whedon. Eliza Dushku is the star, but BSG's Tahmoh Penikett is part of the cast.

**I'm making a special request for this night that even though we may want to discuss the events of tonight's BSG episode afterwards, that we fight the urge to do so since we could have some Browncoats arriving late who won't have seen the new BSG episode and will want to remain unspoiled until they can see it themselves**

With the additional Browncoats coming along, please make sure to RSVP for this event and keep your RSVP current if your plans change, so we make sure we don't overcrowd the space.

Please note that it also looks like we'll get an hour of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in between the two shows, which will give us a glimpse of Firefly alum Summer Glau and BSG: Razor star Stephanie Jacobsen. Gotta love it when a plan comes together...

So, is a plan better than a way?

I'll take either a way or a plan, as long as neither involves human annihilation. That does seem more plan-like than way-like, doesn't it? Sounds like we have a donation poll question for that night...

I've edited the RSVPs for a number of people, just to make sure both the BC Browncoats meetup and ours show an accurate idea of how many people are planning to come out. If you are a member of both groups, try to keep your RSVP accurate in both places. We're going to have a big crowd!

Like davonna said... great food & coffee, great people, great fun and great post screening conversations. It was good to see some familiar faces I hadn't seen for a while.

Thanks to everyone who helped out! It was a big event, and a great opportunity for the two fandoms to come together. Special kudos to keirandyl for the brownies....yum!

This was a totally awesome evening - great turn out, lovely people :), John did a terrific job feeding us with BSG appropriate fare. The level of excitment was very high for the whole evening, but it was absolutely quiet when both shows were on. I'm so glad I found a sub for my yoga class so I could be there!!

A good and convivial crowd as usual. It was nice to see that people were enjoying both shows.

Nick did a great job of arranging a good "flow" to seating, tables. The BSG themed menu he created was thoughtful and fun. It was nice to meet up and chat with Serena, Chad and other Browncoats I haven't seen in a long while. Sound was excellent and group members were respectful of the quiet rule while screenings were on.

BSG went well, the Dollhouse turned-out to be interesting as well, and saw many familiar faces who can't always appear every week. Really great night! especially for a Friday the 13th.
