Synopsis:

Herman Wallace has spent 40 years imprisoned in solitary confinement in a six-foot-by-nine-foot cell for a crime many believe he never committed. The injustice of solitary confinement and the transformative power of art are explored in Herman’s House, a feature documentary from first-time director Angad Singh Bhalla, that follows the unlikely friendship between Jackie Sumell a New York artist, and Herman Wallace, one of America’s most famous inmates, as they collaborate on an acclaimed art project.

I"m really glad I saw this film, interesting to see how Jackie and Herman's connection changed their lives over time. Made we want to see the art exhibit in person, and find out what they're up to now. Thx Mohamed for a nice night out, and conversations w a great group afterwards!

A reel awakening in the unexpected-webs-we-weave department of life! Impressed with lots of this film. V. sensitively rendered doc. on an artist/activist attracted to a prison-bound man first through the injustices he suffers living more decades in solitary confinement than many get to spend on this earth. Thanks again Mohamed and Reel Causes.
