SYNOPSIS: Inspired by a true story, The Sapphires follows four vivacious, young and talented Australian Aboriginal girls from a remote mission as they learn about love, friendship and war when their all girl group The Sapphires entertains the U.S. troops in Vietnam in 1968. Cynthia (Tapsell), Gail (Mailman), Julie (Mauboy) and Kay (Sebbens) are discovered by Dave (O’Dowd), a good-humored talent scout with a kind heart, very little rhythm but a great knowledge of soul music. As their manager, Dave books the sisters their first true gig giving them their first taste of stardom, and travels them to Vietnam to sing for the American troops.

I believe in the power of a story. I wouldn't have learned the tragic racism history against the natives in Australia without having chosen to join the club, and thank you for that! Also the movie good laughter popping here and there. :)

Interesting movie about the racism, the prejudice and the human need to evolute and gain equal rights.
Still people that will do anithing to be recognized as part of their own society, in the Sapphires history, the discriminated ladies, went to entertain some others discriminated people that was killing other discriminated human beens in name of " The white civilization and culture", that one that still discriminating those with dark skinn, the poor and the differents.
Lucky ladies their nice story have a happy end in real life....

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
