VIFF Pow Wow

It's almost upon us! The Vancouver International Film Festival opens on Thursday, September 27th and runs through until October 12th. Last year's pre-fest meet was a great success so we're back this year for another installment of the VIFF POW WOW.

We'll be gathering on Saturday, September 22nd to (if you'd like) share some food, drinks and a lively discussion on the upcoming festival. Bring yourself, your list, your schedule (if you have one) and come prepared to share some of the movies your most looking forward to. This is also a good opportunity to come out and ask questions and talk to folks that have experience with the festival. Why, you ask, is this event scheduled so late? The VIFF preview guides are already kicking around and the online schedule is already up but the VIFF Program Guide doesn't go on sale until September 15th and this gives folks the opportunity to pick one up and browse through before the event. More festival details, including where to pick-up preview and program guides, check out the festival website!

This is a drop in session that will run for 2 hours. Feel free to drop by at any time and stay for as little or long as you'd like! I'll be there for the entire two hours.

Copies of the preview guide will be available for the taking and a catalogue along with a computer will be available for reference!

Hope to see you there!

Other than on the internet, where are people getting their preview guides?

Chapters/Indigo had some, but I think at some places they are all gone now. Sounds like you've already discovered the downloadable copy at http://www.viff.org/f...

Preview guides have been available for a week or so and may be hard to find. They had them at coffee shops and Skytrain Stations but I'm not sure how easy they are to find now. I'm guessing the Vancity Theatre has some. I have a small stack if them ill be bringing with me that people can take away.

If you're looking for the full program guide with every movie and a schedule, they're $10 and available now at these locations:
