Vancouver International and Independent Cinema Group Message Board › Call For Volunteers-Charity Screening for the Benefit of Vancouver Foodbank-AMAL
This coming September 2nd, our group is leading & organizing the screening of the Film AMAL for the benefit of the Vancouver food Bank at Langara College, followed by a remote/skype Q & A session with Director Deep Mehta, who was happy to join in our cause as an artist who presented a work directly related to the issue of Poverty.
The film is the third in our " Watching Films with a Conscience" project (http://www.meetup.com....
Your collaboration is highly sought to make this event a success, and to give this project a strong push in its official inaugural event.
Volunteers are needed to help with our upcoming event as follows:
1) IT: Designing a website for the project, being in charge of e-promotional tools.
2) Community outreach: Promoting the event with community newspapers, media, and community bodies who might be interested in the film. (For example:East Indian community in case of this film)
3) Event coordinator: That is more of a long term assignment, where the volunteer is going to be contacting with film producers, distributors and relevant non profits.
Volunteer period: ASAP-September 2nd to start with, collaborating on following events is possible too.
Time commitment: Expected commitment is per assignment but probably a few hours a week, working independently to deliver pre-agreed upon tasks.
If you are interested please send me an indication of interest here or at email@example.com as well as a brief on your relevant background or how you can add to the project, in terms of experience, networks or other as you see fit.
Volunteers who join will help put the beginning steps of an ongoing charity Vancouver event, as well as a growing project that will link different charities, Local media and the Vancouver community.
We will be giving back to our community, networking, and we ll have lots of fun at the same time!
