Variety is the spice of life, says the old adage. I think veg*ns can do a lot of different things as veg*ns, besides just eating together. I do like trying good restaurants, and I do like potlucks, but that's not all there is to life. Veg*ns need to find friends with whom they share other interests, besides a similar diet. In my life, music, dancing, movies, art, theatre, games, literature, dogs, nature, travel, museums, and animal welfare all contribute to my sense of identity, and my feeling that life is worth living. In my experience, all veg*ns are richly involved in life, and have broad interests. So, why not share those interests?
I want to keep the spirit going, in which this group was originally formed (see original quote, below). I'll be posting suggestions for different activities. Some activities will no doubt attract more interest than others.
Here's the original concept, which made me want to join. Unfortunately, there were only 4 events, all very close together in 2011, as far as I can tell, and none of the dates worked for me and my husband. But I still think it's a good idea. So, let's try again.
"This is a group for vegetarians and vegans of all ages to ... make friends, play games, talk, have a drink, go on a hike, grab a meal, etc. ... Anyone looking to meet like minded friends or who has a starting interest in the veg lifestyle should join."
