Please be sure that your dishes are vegan, meaning no honey, dairy, egg, and other animal products of any sort. If you can label the ingredients, that would be great :)
Hi Vegan Nerds,
We will meet at Haz's Apartment 1202 on 12th floor. Haz will give a list of the rsvps to the doorman.
There there is a nice eating/socializing area. Alcohol is OK but not glass bottles. Haz will provide disposable cups, bowls, plates, eating utensils, Coors Light and Coke. For the fireworks, we can try watching from my building's central fountain deck, from where you can sometimes see them, or we can walk a couple of blocks to Navy Pier. 2nd is Probably the better idea.
Afterwards, we can come back to my apt for yonanas banana "ice cream," and hang out until whenever.
There is parking just east on Illinois at the Fox and Obel's underground lot. You can not leave your car on McClurg or on New St anymore due to construction. For L people, my apt is located a little over 1/2 mile east of the Grand stop of the Red Line. You can walk East on Grand until you hit McClurg, and the next block south is Illinois which my building is on (Illinois and McClurg).
If there are any other questions please ask in the comments, I will update this page with all new information so check back before the event :)
Haz has been kind enough to host our Vegan4th of JULY POTLUCK CELEBRATION at his apartment near the Navy Pier!
Hi Vegan Nerds,
We are so excited to announce this Independence Day Celebration which is in prime location for viewing the Navy Pier fireworks display! So let's go All-American for this potluck and share some Summer foods we all love :)
Even if you've never been to a Meetup event this is a great place to start, we love new faces!! :)
We are so excited to see you there, any questions or comments please chime in below! I will continue updating this page with new info.
As always we adhere to the strict definition of vegan so everyone can be included, this means no dairy, eggs, honey or animal products of any kind. If you can label the ingredients, that would be even better! Anyone looking for vegan beer and wine just check out Barnivore :)
