For more detail about the March is the following:

Join us on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Grand Rapids will stand united with cities around the world opposing the use of GMO's in our food supply.

Who is Monsanto, and why do we march?

Monsanto Corporation is a leading producer of genetically engineered (GE) seed and of the herbicide glyphosate, which it markets under the "Roundup" brand.

Research studies have shown that Monsanto’s genetically-modified foods can lead to serious health conditions such as the development of cancer tumors, infertility and birth defects.

I'm looking around, I see nobody. I parked at the museum, walked across the bridge and back, then north. I've never been here so....

Kim---what happened at this march that was different from last years'?? Were emails collected, talks by community leaders given, any real media outlets documenting, any connection to the simultaneous word-wide event??? How can each individual city create a world-wide network so our united voices can be heard???

Em, maybe you can address your questions to the No GMO for Michigan folks. They're the ones who sponsored this event. They have a FB page. Tanya is one of the main contact people but there is a guy who's name I don't know that led this March.

Hi Paul, I'm glad you had a good time (except burnt head. LOL) I didn't get a good photo of the stop sign but let me look it up again and tag you.

Hi Paul! Look for us wearing black tee shirts with a Vegan message on them. You can usually park someplace on Scribner. We're lining up at 1:30 PM. See ya there!

Was going to go---went last time---felt like it was a 'feel good' opportunity for us participants in that we expressed our dissent---in that way---it had value. However, without any news coverage or a real discussion with community leaders or a media connection to the larger demonstrations occurring simultaneously world-wide, I probably won't participate this time.

Hi Em..you bring up some good points. I have a FB post out to the organizers of the March (No GMO for Michigan) to see if they will have any media coverage or can get some. I see it was covered last year by the Rapidian but no TV coverage. I'll let you know their response when I get it...Barb O.

Even though you don't have "Vegan" t-shirt that we mentioned above, please join us anyway. If you can wear any black tshirt, that would be perfect too!! So we can spot you better :)

It will be great to see a lot of vegan activists marching together against Monsanto. If you can get a Vegan shirt through the link www.nonviolenceunited.org They cost $24 but we could wear them whenever we gather as a group in public and that could show solidarity and possibly show others that we're just a bunch of compassionate vegans and to come join us. You certainly don't need to wear this shirt to march with us however so just hope to see you there and that the weather is perfect!
