Vegan Pot-Luck at Odiorne Point State Park

Summer is here, but before it's over we will be having a NHARL meet-up at the beach! This vegan pot-luck will be at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, NH just past the NH beaches. We hope many of our NHARL friends will come!

As the date gets closer we will list items that people are bringing here, also we will list a rain date.

Things to consider bringing are: sunscreen, water, a chair, a sun-hat.

It was good meeting everyone! I look forward to the next gathering. It was a great day! Thank you so much, Linda for putting it all together and everyone for bringing such great food. What a great bunch of people you all are. Thank you for sharing your recipes too. I learned some new interesting ways of preparing food.

Thank you everyone, it was a great vegan day. So nice meeting Outcast Jack (great luck in Taiji, Japan helping the dolphins) and all of you. Colleen, Let your boys know the nice lady who gave them a ride in the wagon has their frisbee. The food was great and we all need the recipes for the broccoli salad and the potato salad.

I have run out of time to make something for this event. Hubby was trying his hand at a dessert but it failed. Is there something that I can pick up and bring with me?

    1 · August 25, 2013

    • Angela C.

      How about watermelon?

      August 25, 2013

    • Sarah J.

I am looking forward to meeting other vegans like myself, sharing new recipes, trying new foods and just enjoying the beach. Don't know what I will bring yet. Do I have to decide or can I just bring it?

    1 · August 23, 2013

    • Linda D.

Sorry about that but I guess I wasn't clear on bringing the drinks.

      August 24, 2013

    • Angela C.

    August 23, 2013

NHARL will buy some Sustys sandwiches and provide the paper products. That seems like the best option to replace veggie burgers, etc. So far we have broccoli salad, a cheesecake or similar dessert, The German potato salad sounds good at this point, and drinks.

    1 · August 23, 2013

    • Kathy D.

I'm not sure if I'm attending, it depends how how much progress I make on my homework. If I do attend, I'll bring fruit.

      August 23, 2013

    • Linda D.

hope you can make it Kathy.

We have to pay $4 per adult and $2 per kid?

    August 23, 2013

    • Linda D.

Thanks Lisa, kept forgetting to post this. Under 6 and 65 get in free. The Seacoast Science Center should be open for an additional admission fee and there is hiking and biking so bring your bike or any other outside toys or games you like. There is no swimming. The weather is looking good for Sunday.

Odiorne doesn't allow any charcoal grilling. Only electric grills are allowed. NHARL can buy some sandwiches from Susty's instead. How does that sound? Or does anyone have a better idea?
I live in Raymond so anyone coming on 101 can carpool the rest of the way with me.

Or we have a vegan pizza party there..Flatbread Makes a Yummy Vegan Pizza!!! (And Portland Pie does too)......just a thought.

I think I'll make some type of dessert- either a "cheesecake" or a chocolate mouse torte. Looking forward to it : )

What sort of food do you want? I make awesome dark chocolate peanut butter cookies. Or perhaps Happy Herbivore's German Potato Salad?

    3 · August 7, 2013

    • Linda D.

Both sound great! Perhaps check during the week to see where the need is. I will bring condiments and drinks. NHARL will bring stuff for the grill and rolls.
